Ice Ice (skating) Baby!

By trait I am not spontaneous person. I like things planned at a time and then that plan is to be followed.  I look up directions, keep the calendar, and enjoying knowing what it will probably happen next. Today was a truly fun and unplanned day.

Adam and Katie went to the grocery store. Then, we went to Annapolis Town Center to get our race registration for our upcoming 5K 10K and 12 miler road races (Adam's first! I'm trying to tell him but wow is running an odd culture if you didn't grow up in it!). We explored and got lunch at Gordon Bierche.

It was a beautiful day with temperatures in the 50's, so we went to Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis to ice skate.

Despite skating pretty much every week all winter for a large section of elementary and middle school, I had not been on ice skates in a very long time ( 8th grade?). It took a little while for me to get comfortable but after a few warm-up laps, Katie joined me on the ice.  Katie was nervous and tentative but just like her mom got used to it and seem to enjoy it. This is especially exciting because we decided to skip naptime!

Dad and Will watched happily.  We got home in time for a quick visit from grandma and grandpa T as they went back home from the bay house, dinner, bath, and Katie to bed before the Super bowl.

There's snow in the forecast.... Fingers crossed.... Mommy could use a snow day!
